Laser Hair Reduction

Laser hair reduction uses controlled light energy to target hair follicles and reduce regrowth over a course of sessions. Our system uses integrated contact cooling for comfort and is chosen with Indian and darker skin tones in mind. Results build gradually as more follicles are treated in their active growth phase, so a course of sessions — and occasional maintenance — gives the best long-term reduction.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many sessions of laser hair reduction will I need?

Most people need around 6–8 sessions for a good reduction, followed by occasional maintenance. The exact number depends on the area, your hair and hormonal factors.

Q: Is laser hair reduction permanent?

It gives long-term reduction rather than a guarantee of permanent removal. Most people see a large, lasting reduction in growth, with occasional maintenance sessions to keep results.

Q: Should I shave or wax before my session?

Shave the area 12–24 hours before. Do not wax, thread or pluck for 3–4 weeks before, because the laser needs the hair root in place to work.

Q: Is it safe for dark and Indian skin tones?

Yes. Our system and settings are chosen with Indian and darker skin tones in mind, and a patch test is done first to keep treatment safe.

Q: Does it help with PCOS or hormonal facial hair?

It can significantly reduce hormonal and PCOS-related hair, but because hormones keep stimulating new hair, this type usually needs more sessions and ongoing maintenance. We plan for this during your consultation.

Q: Can men have laser hair reduction?

Yes — men commonly treat the back, chest, shoulders and beard-line shaping. Settings are adjusted for coarser hair.

Q: Does it hurt?

Most people find it comfortable thanks to contact cooling — often described as a warm snap. Sensitive areas like the upper lip can feel a little sharper.

Q: Is there any downtime?

No real downtime. Mild redness or warmth in the area is normal and usually settles within a few hours.

Q: How far apart are sessions?

Usually every 4–6 weeks for the body and 3–4 weeks for the face, timed to the hair growth cycle.

Q: What areas can be treated?

Almost any area — face (upper lip, chin, cheeks), underarms, arms, legs, bikini, back, chest and more.

Q: What should I do after a session?

Use sunscreen and avoid sun, hot showers, sauna, steam, gym and swimming for 24–48 hours. Between sessions you can shave but should not wax or thread.

Q: Why choose Esthétique Le Divine, and can NRI clients plan ahead?

Before & After Your Session

Pre-Care & Post-Care

Before Your Treatment

  • Shave the area 12–24 hours before (do not wax, thread or pluck for 3–4 weeks before)
  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning and self-tan for 2 weeks before
  • Skip retinoids/strong actives on the area for a few days
  • Tell us about medications, PCOS or skin conditions

After Your Treatment

  • Apply soothing gel and daily sunscreen; avoid sun for 1–2 weeks
  • Avoid hot showers, sauna, steam, gym and swimming for 24–48 hours
  • Do not wax, thread or pluck between sessions — shaving is fine
  • Avoid perfumes/harsh products on the area for 24 hours
Safety & Suitability

A patch test and skin assessment are done before the first full session. Laser works best on dark hair; light, grey or white hair responds poorly. Not performed during pregnancy or over active tan/sunburn.
